Mark 11:23-24
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
How do you pray, child of God? Do you pray wondering if and when what you are asking for will ever come to pass or do you pray believing that you are actually receiving what you are asking God for? In our text above, Jesus said that if you believe you are receiving the things you are asking for, you will have them. When you pray this way, Philippians 4:6 will be your experience. Instead of being anxious, you will make you request known to God with thanksgiving in your heart. There's a peace and joy that will fill your heart and will cause you to express gratitude towards God when you really believe you are receiving while you pray. This kind of faith is what fortified Jesus as He stood before Lazarus' grave and said, "Father I thank You because you always hear me," John 11:41-42. The revelation you have of God's love for you, God's will and God's willingness to give you what you ask for in the name of Jesus will affect your ability to believe you are receiving while you pray. Another thing that will help you to pray this way is your understanding that you are righteous in Christ and that God is your Father. In Matthew 7:11 Jesus said, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" This consciousness will surely take your faith and prayer life to the next level.
PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God right now for His great love for you and for His willingness to give you what you ask for. Pray in faith about the things you desire right now.
