Seek to Know God More |

John 17:3 (GNB), Philippians 3:10 (GNB), Daniel 11:32b
And eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent. *All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death. *…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

In our first text above, Jesus Himself revealed that eternal life is about knowing God and knowing Him. Do you realize that the more we know God, the more we become like Him? This glorious transformation happens by God's Spirit. In the Amplified Bible, 2Corinthians 3:18 says, “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”
The proof of passion is pursuit. The proof that you genuinely desire to know God is in the deliberate steps and sacrifices you are willing to make to strengthen your relationship with God. Knowing God and growing in our relationship with Him are amongst the greatest investments and foundation that we need in our lives. Great strength and empowerment for exploits await us if we are ready to grow in our knowledge of God.
We must be ready to let go of everything that will prevent us from drawing nearer to God. Ask questions about God, study and seek out the truth of the Word of God for yourself and be willing to apply the Word of God that is being revealed to you. Pray, worship and spend time with God, simply to know Him more. God is more than willing to reveal Himself to us. We must maintain our own very strong and personal motivation to know God because there will continue to be ample distractions and discouragements that will endeavor to prevent us from doing so. If we are ready to draw nearer to God, He is more than ready to draw nearer to us, James 4:8.

PRAYER: I desire to know You more, O God. Draw me nearer to You and reveal more of Yourself to me. Make me more like You.
