Grace to Dominate Your Flesh
WEDNESDAY
JUN 22

Romans 6:11-13
In the same way you are to think of yourselves as dead, so far as sin is concerned, but living in fellowship with God through Christ Jesus. Sin must no longer rule in your mortal bodies, so that you obey the desires of your natural self. Nor must you surrender any part of ourselves to sin to be used for wicked purposes. Instead, give yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes.

Author PhotoIn Christ, you have dominion over sin and you have dominion over your flesh. You are free from sin. You are no longer in bondage to sin. Romans 6:7 says, for he that is dead is freed from sin. Christ has set you free. When you died with Christ on the Cross of Calvary, you died to sin and the power of your flesh. The more you realize this, the more you will have victory over sin and your flesh.

Realize in your mind that in Christ, God has given you all that you need to dominate your flesh and to have victory over sin. You have grace to submit to God; resist the devil and he will flee from you, James 4:7. You have grace to abstain from all appearances of evil, 1Thes.5:22. You have grace to love righteousness and hate iniquity, Heb.1:9. Believe that it is possible and it will be your reality. God's grace is sufficient for you.

Let pleasing God and growing in holiness be a priority to you. You have control over your spirit. Proverbs 25:28 says, he that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Yield yourself to the Spirit of God and let the works of the flesh die out of your life, Rom.8:13. That part of you that wants you to sin is actually dead. You have dominion over it. Exercise your dominion over it and stop obeying a dead master. Decide that you will no longer yield yourself to sin. Decide that you will not let your flesh prevent you from occupying till Christ comes.

PRAYER FOCUS:  Thank God for the grace He has given you to be free from sin and to keep yielding yourself to His leading.
