| Occupying In the Family |

Genesis 18:17-19
And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

The family is a major platform for influence. What goes on in the family serves as a major foundation for what goes in society. This is why there are so many attacks today against the family. Things like divorce and gay legislation are simply major attacks by the devil on how God intends the family to be. God is interested in our families. He wants to use us to save lives and occupy in our families until Christ comes. Your family is your first ministry.We occupy in the family by ensuring that the ways of the Lord are being promoted and that the will of God is being enacted continually. We do everything to keep the devil and his ploys out of our families. We must see to it that every member of our family comes to know the Lord Jesus and we must keep every member of our family in the fellowship and love of God. We must look out for our family spiritually and must not let anyone be lost.
We must be deliberate about teaching the ways of God and about being good examples; practicing the ways of God in our homes and families. We must be deliberate about loving, caring and raising up our children in the way that they should go, Prov.22:6. We must correct and discipline our children, Prov.23:13. We must control what comes in and out of our homes. We must be deliberate about honouring God and following His principles for marriage, Heb.13:4. We must love and honour our parents, Eph.6:1.
PRAYER FOCUS: Commit your family into God's hand and pray for the salvation of lives and for the will of God to prevail in your family. Receive grace to continue to occupy in your family till Christ comes.
