Beholding The Glory.

Deacon Adekunle Adenuga

Mark 4:3-25
Mark 4:3 KJV
3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

Beholding is looking at / seeing. It is turning your eyes in a particular direction and to pay attention to something. It also implies to have faith and confidence in someone. Psalm 121. It is obtaining perception  the ability to understand. Therefore, beholding is giving attention to seeing with the purpose of understanding (perceiving).

Ephesians 1:16-19 KJV
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Seeing is as much important as listening in the kingdom of God. Both abilities are crucial to our understanding of the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Both abilities are required for possessing our inheritance in the kingdom. Information guarantees transformation. Information comes when you hear and see. To be without information is to be deformed and destroyed. Isaiah 5:13.
This ability to see is so important that Apostle Paul had to pray for the Ephesians Christians that the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ give light to the eyes of their understanding. Because when the eyes of our understanding are illuminated with the light, there will be a knowing. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know Now, this implies the eyes of your heart are to see to bring understanding. When understanding comes, there is a knowing. This is called perception. This spiritual perception brings about life and grace. Proverbs 3:21-22.

Isaiah 6:9-10 KJV
9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

Spiritual seeing brings spiritual perception. This is spiritual understanding. Now, when you give attention to the light of the Word and look at the Word of God, understanding is delivered. What you see determines what you get. For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. Genesis 13:15. It is what you see that you will possess. What you cannot see, you cannot possess.

When there is understanding with the heart, conversion is produced. Conversion is changing the way you live and think. Seeing things from the Word produces signs and wonders. Psalm 119:18, Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. This is a prayer. It means to remove that which hinders light whereby I can see. It is receiving the unveiling and uncovering of the wonders that is embedded in the prevailing Word of the Almighty God. It is the same prayer by the Apostle Paul to the Ephesians that God gives light to the eyes of their heart to understanding. Until you see in the Word, you cannot know what is the hope of His calling. Until the eyes of your heart are illuminated, you will not know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. It requires the opening of the inner eyes to perceive the exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe. Until you can see the promises of God in His Word, you may never experience the reality of the promises.

Genesis 15:5-6 KJV
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

It is what you are able to see that you will have / possess. Abraham has to look intently before he believed God. Abraham looked toward heaven and he believed in the Lord. Beholding the Word creates faith and confidence in God. For beholding is perception  the ability to understand. When you understand, there is a knowing; this knowing brings transformation.

Isaiah 41:20 KJV
20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

In the Word is life and the life is the light of men. When you look into the Word, you gain light. When you behold the Word, you overcome darkness, because the light in the Word will shine in the darkness, and darkness can never overcome/comprehend it. Moreover, the light of the Word makes manifest. Light reveals. Light enables one to see. The light of the Word will expose all things inconsistent with the Word in your life. For all things that are discovered are made manifest by the light of the Word. So, when you look intently into the Word of God you gain divine light that produces all the heavenly discoveries for your abundant life.

James 1:21-25 KJV
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

According to the Scripture, when you look into the perfect law of liberty, and continue in it, not forgetting it, but doing the work thereof, that man shall be blessed in his doing. but he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).

The word look {Greek: parakupto} means to move closer and see clearly by leaning over. Therefore, to look into the perfect law of liberty means to give utmost priority to the Word by staying closer and leaning over it to see what is inside the Word. Exodus 3:1-4. The more you look into the Word and continue in it and act on it, the more blessed you become. This refers to inside [inner man] transformation that result into glorious life.
John 3:3 KJV
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

If you can see it, you can perceive it.
If you can perceive it, you can know it.
If you can know it, you can possess it. Possession is coming into the reality and substance of the inheritance in the Word.

2 Corinthians 3:18, And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
