Place God's Word on Your Lips

   WEDNESDAY
        JUL. 27

2Cor.4:13 (NIV), Joshua 1:8, Hebrews 13:5-6 (NKJV)
It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak. *This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth….* For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you," so we may boldly say: the Lord is my helper, I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Author PhotoIn Revelation 1:16, John testified that he saw a double edged sword protruding out of Jesus' mouth. The Bible compares the Word of God to a double edged sword (Heb.4:12) and describes it as the sword of the Spirit (Eph.6:17). The Word of God on your lips has the same effect as a double edged sword on every area of your life.

God created the world by speaking His word. You also can recreate your world by speaking like God. James 3:2-6 shows us how powerful our tongues are. It shows us that with our tongues, we can control the direction of our bodies and entire lives. This means that with your mouth, you can program your life to experience God's power and will for your life.

There is a reason why God told Joshua to not allow His Word to depart from his mouth. That is where the strength and courage that Joshua needed to carry out His assignment was going to come from. It is one thing to know what God says about you and it is another thing for you to believe it and boldly declare it to yourself. By doing this, you are agreeing with God and as such, releasing the power of God's Word to manifest in your life and situation.

Since your mouth speaks from the abundance of your heart, you must therefore let the Word of God dwell in your heart richly, Col.3:16. If the word of God dwells in you richly, it will surely affect your confessions. It reflects in what you believe and say. Continue to renew your mind with God's Word and let your meditations, declarations and confessions be based on God's Word and will for your life. Let the Word of God change the way you think.

PRAYER FOCUS:  Thank God for His love and promises to you. Declare God's promises to yourself and declare your trust in God.
