Satans Origin and Fall.
Isaiah 14:12-17 KJV
(12) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
(13) For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
(14) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
(15) Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
(16) They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
(17) That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
Originally, Satan was called Lucifer [Daystar], son of the morning. He was an anointed cherub of the Most High God. He was created beautiful and endowed with the glory and wisdom of God. He was fitted with pipes and timbrels, revealing that he was an angel fitted with the ability to make all manner of music of praise and worship to God. Possibly, he was an archangel in charge of the heavenly hosts of choristers to minister worship and praise to God Almighty. Ezekiel 28: 12-19.
He was perfect in all his ways from the day he was created till iniquity was found in him. His iniquity was that he said in his heart I will be like the Most High. It was pride that was found in him. He was lifted up in his heart because of his beauty. Sin corrupted him and all of his beauty and wisdom. Therefore, he was cast out of heaven into the earth, and became an eternal enemy of God and everything thats God.
Satan's name reveals his nature and character. The biblical name of Satan reveals his nature and character and his realm of authority in this world.
Devil: accuser, defamer, calumniator, slanderer. Matthew 13: 19; Revelation 12: 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. He is always making false statement to damage the good thought people have of God. He is accuser [to say that somebody has done something wrong or is guilty of something]. He is calumniator [to calumny means a false statement about a person to damage their reputation].
Adversary: he is the opponent and arch enemy of God and His children. 1 Peter 5: 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: He is the devourer walking about for who to consume. Dont let him consume. Stand on the Word.
Thief and Destroyer: John 10: 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: He is a thief, robber, killer and destroyer.
Murderer and Liar: John 8: 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Accuser of the Brethren: Revelation 12: 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Deceiver, Old Serpent: Revelation 12: 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
He is also the prince of the power of the air, Ephesians 2: 2; the god of this world system, 2 Corinthians 4: 4, the prince of this world, John 12: 31, John 14: 30, John 16: 8, 11. Compare 2 Corinthians 11: 14.
Now, God has delivered us from the power and authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. We have authority in Jesus name to rule and reign over Satan and his demons. Since we are children of light, we are to walk as children of light. As long as we walk in the light, darkness cannot overpower us. The light shines into the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it. 1 John 1: 5-7; 5: 18-19.
