The Faith Banquet - The Believer's Life In Christ 5

The Necessity For Redemption

Galatians 2:20 NKJV

(20) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

Man was created in the image of God and according to His likeness. He was to live in dominion and have dominion over all the works of God's hands. He was created and crowned with glory and honour, and made a little lower than God. He was the original god of the world. He was God's under-ruler on the earth. He was created to rule and reign over the earth with all of the dominion and authority given to him by God Almighty. God created man as a sovereign being to rule and control the earth. He was given dominion over the works of God's hands, and all things were put under his feet. Man was created to live a dignified and excellent and glorious life. Psalm 8: 5-6.

He was to carry out the eternal purpose of the Father God on the earth. He was God's son created to fulfill the will of the Father God. He was to give pleasure and delight to the great love heart of His Father.
Psalms 115:16 KJV
(16) The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Then, Adam sinned and became separated from God. He lost the ability and right to approach God. He passed from spiritual life to spiritual death. Spiritual death is separation from God  the Source of eternal life. Because of this, he lost his authority and dominion to whom he yielded himself to obey, that is  Satan. By agreeing with the devil, he took on the nature of Satan, which is spiritual death. Satan is the author of sin for he sinned from the beginning. He is the source of sin; hence he became eternally separated from God. Adam became partaker of the nature of Satan by committing High Treason against the Most High God in that he delivered his God-given authority and dominion to God's enemy by rebelling against Gods command and agreeing with the devil.

Romans 3:23 KJV
(23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:12 KJV
(12) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Through Adam, sin entered the world, and [spiritual] death entered the world through sin, and thus [spiritual] death spread to all men, because all sinned. All men became identified with Adam in sin. Therefore, we all became the slaves of sin. It is evident that the human race is universally under the dominion of Satan, in that they have all become partakers of his nature  spiritual death. Man has lost his legal right to approach God, and Satan is now his god and ruler. Through the offense of one man [Adam], death reigned over all men. For as by the disobedience of one man, death took dominion over all men, hence all were made sinners. For this purpose, redemption was necessary to deliver man from the dominion of death. Hence, it involves the paying of a price for sin, in order to rescue man from the consequence of sin, which is spiritual death  the nature of Satan. Man must be given a new nature through the new birth based on legal ground.

2 Timothy 1: 8-10. Jesus Christ our Saviour was revealed to abolish and terminate spiritual death and bring life and immortality to light through the gospel. He was manifested to destroy and bring to naught the works of the devil. Hebrews 2: 14, 15; 1 John 3: 8. Compare John 18: 37.

Romans 3:22-24 KJV
(22) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
(23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
(24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Jesus Christ came that man might have the life - the God kind of life - and have it more abundantly. In other word, the will of God for us in Christ Jesus is that we have Zoƫ in abundant, to the full till it overflows. Therefore, it was necessary that if man is to be restored to a position of spiritual life, which will enabled him to have perfect fellowship with the Father God, righteousness must be given to him. All sin consciousness, sense of unworthiness and inferiority must be eliminated from the mans spirit and mind.

The necessity for man's redemption was the same as the reason for His creation  Gods desire for fellowship (communion, and partnership and communication) with man. 1 Corinthians 1: 9; 1 John 1: 1-3. The reason for the New Creation is that the fellowship between God and man might be restored. And that fellowship must be based on the ground of man being made righteous just like his Father God. Romans 3: 21, 24, 26.
