CGMG ABOVE ONLY - Fruits of Your Love for God (7)

Fruits of Your Love for God (7)

FRIDAY
MAY. 26

 Colossians 3:17 (NIV), Ephesians 6:5-7
And whatever you do, whetherin word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. *Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.

Author PhotoIt is one thing for you to say and do whatever you desire as if it were Christ saying or doing it; it is another for you to do it as unto Christ. This is another way that we reflect our love for Christ. In our second text above, the Bible implores us to work for others as if we were working for Christ Himself; not mere man or woman. Today, I pray that God will release this grace and perspective upon you by His Spirit. It would drastically change how you do your work. You will find yourself being strong and doing exploits on that job, no matter what you face.

Ephesians 5:21-22 says, “submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” This is the standard that God wants us to uphold in our relationships with each other. The love that people extend to us may not be enough for us to love them and treat them well, but God doesn't want us to allow the love and attitude of people toward us to regulate our love and attitudes towards them. He wants His love for us and attitude towards us to affect our attitude towards people. When we do this, God Himself will bless us for it, Eph.6:8. How do you think our families, organizations and society would be if our actions towards each other were as unto Christ?

PRAYER FOCUS:
Ask God for the grace to do whatever you do and say whatever you say as if you are saying and doing it unto Christ. Pray for this attitude to reflect in all your relationships.
