Acknowledge Your Greatness in Christ 2

Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV)"You are the salt of the earth… if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl … they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. …, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

In our text above, Jesus made some powerful comparisons in describing the greatness of those of us who are in Him. In a world full of so much bitterness and darkness, Jesus described us as the salt of the earth and the light of the world. The same taste, joy, hope, preservation, direction and positive influence that salt and light bring whenever they are utilized is what Jesus says you are empowered to bring into every life and environment that you find yourself. You are a solution provider and you are a pace setter. You are person of influence. When a city is set on a hill, it gives hope and refuge to cities around it. In times of flooding and danger, people run to such cities for safety.

Wake up to your greatness, child of God! Stop hiding your light and your saltiness. Take your stand. Set the pace. Lead, love, forgive, make impact and be a good example. Stop waiting for solutions from people who are actually waiting for you to be the solution. Do exploits! Think like the salt and light that you are. If you consider how you can bring hope and solutions right where you are, God will release His favour and power through you to bring hope and solutions to those lives and situations. In John 9:5 Jesus said, “as long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” No wonder He brought hope and solutions to the lives and situations that He encountered. That same Jesus is in you and He has ordained you to be the light of the world. Be that salt and light!

FAITH DECLARATION: Today I am providing joy, hope, solutions and direction to the lives of others and every situation that I face.
