| You Were Born an Overcomer |

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name. Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!] *For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world…

The power of your being born of God prevails over any negative implications of your natural birth. Something supernatural happened to your DNA once you believed in Jesus and became born again. The DNA of God has now been imputed into you. Because of this divine DNA that is now in you, you now live and operate in God's class. You belong to God's specie and race. You are a brand new creation. A divine regeneration has taken place in your life and you are now a part of God's own bloodline and generation. Whatever cannot overcome God cannot overcome you! Your being born of God has already made you an overcomer over it. You already have the advantage. You live on the God side of life. God is not only with you and for you and He is in you. You have His very Life.You are God's beloved child, just like Christ. That is why Ephesians 1:6 assures you that you have been accepted in the beloved. God loves you and is proud of you in the same way He is proud of Christ. The devil does not want you to remain actively conscious of this divine power that comes with being a child of God. Immediately after God declared in Luke 3:21-22 that Jesus was his beloved Son in whom He was well pleased, the devil tempted Jesus in Luke 4:3 by using the words, “if you are the Son of God…” The devil did not refer to Jesus as 'the beloved Son of God' because he was aware that that consciousness was enough to give Jesus victory over him. As you grow in the consciousness that you are already an overcomer because you are born of God, you will experience greater victory and dominion in every area of your life.
PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for the victorious and overcoming power that He has given you by making you His child through Christ.
