Matthew 22:36-39, Luke 10:27
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. *And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

In Deuteronomy 28:1, God promised that if His children would listen diligently to His voice and obey all His commandments, He would set them on high above all the nations of the earth. Like we can see in our texts above, Jesus summarized all of God's commandments in one word – love. Romans 13:10 confirms that love is the fulfilling of the law. The primary thing that God wants from us is that we love Him so much that it reflects in everything we do and in the way we treat others. 1Corinthians 8:3 (NIV) says that the man who loves God is known by God. 1Corinthians 2:9 reveals that the things that God has prepared for those who love him have been unseen, unheard of and unimagined.
How much do you love God? Your love for God is actually a reflection of your understanding of His love for you, 1John 4:19. The men and women who did exploits for God in the Bible were men and women who had an unusual passion and love for God. Their love for God caused them to stand out. It caused them to be willing to do anything and go to any length for God. In response, God manifested His power and accomplished great wonders through them. Your passionate love for God will fuel your commitment to your covenant relationship with Him. You must love God genuinely and with your entire being. It is easy to do so when you understand that He loves you with all His heart, all His soul, all His strength and all His mind. Our response to that kind of unrelenting love is what propels us to do exploits for Him. Today, make your love for God your greatest priority.
