Faith in God's Protection and Preservation

Friday, August 26

Psalm 91:10-12, Psalm 34:7-8
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their
hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. *The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

You are an Ambassador of Christ and a representative of God's kingdom. In the same way government officials are often provided with adequate security to enable them to effectively carry out their responsibilities, heaven's protection is always available for you to enable you to continue to occupy until Christ comes. Do not be afraid of any danger. Be assured of God's protection and preservation over your life.

After giving His disciples the commission to go into the world and make more disciples, Jesus affirmed that He would be with them always, even unto the end of the world, Matt.28:20. We are His disciples also and this promise similarly applies to us as we go about the assignment God has given us. In John 17:15, Jesus didn't pray for God to take us out of the world because of the evil of the world. Rather, He prayed for God to keep us from the evil of the world. The evil of the world will not come near you. God will preserve you and continue to empower you to do His will.

Except the Lord watches over you, every other attempt to protect yourself will be in vain, Psa.127:1. God is watching over you and He does not sleep or slumber. You will go through waters and fire but they will not overflow or consume you, Isa.43:2. You will always emerge better on the other side. Because God Himself has called you, He will hold your hand
and keep you, Isa.42:6. The same God that protected and preserved Daniel in the land of Babylon will protect and preserve you.

PRAYER Focus: Praise God for His protection and preservation over your life as you continue to occupy until Christ comes.
