CGMI ABOVE ONLY - WHO IS WINNING IN YOUR LIFE?

Who is Winning In Your Life?

Saturday November 5

Gal 5:17 (NIV), Romans 6:16 (NIV)
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. *Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey — whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Author PhotoGod does not want us to be ignorant of the sizeable battle that continually occupies our minds. The battle is between God and the devil; it is about who will rule and reign in your life. You determine who wins by who you chose to yield yourself to. At any given point in time, you are either fulfilling the will of God or the will of the devil. Every thought, word and action you allow to prevail in your life allows either God or the devil to win.

God loves you so much. That, child of God, is precisely why the devil hates you. The devil cannot understand why God is so mindful of you. He cannot comprehend why God loves you and shows you His mercy and grace the way He consistently does. One way he tries to cause God to regret His love for you is by endeavoring to steer you against God's will. This is another reason why you must remain sober and vigilant or self controlled and alert as the NIV says in 1Peter 5:7.

We must be alert, both in good times and in trying times. We must continue to submit to God and continue to resist the devil and he will flee, James 4:7. We have been empowered to do this; otherwise God would not have asked us to. God's grace is available and sufficient for us to do this. God will always make a way of escape out of temptations, 1Cor.10:13. Be wise and live right. Proverbs 10:29 says, the way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

PRAYER FOCUS: Our text above reflects Joshua and Caleb's response to the frustration and mindset of the people of Israel after they received the evil report of the other ten spies following their return from
