Benefits of Growing in Wisdom

THURSDAY
AUG. 11

 Proverbs 2:6-11
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He … preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee.

Author PhotoIf you are ready to grow in wisdom and to apply wisdom to your life, wisdom will improve your character and the way you live your life, Prov.1:9. Proverbs 3:19-20 shows us that it was by God's wisdom that He created the earth. Wisdom will also cause you to create things. Proverbs 24:3 says that by wisdom is a house built and by understanding is it established. Wisdom will increase your ability to build and establish both people and physical structures; things that will enhance the lives of men and women. It was wisdom that created great leaders like Daniel and Joseph, even in strange lands.

1Kings 10:4-6 says, and when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built, and the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her. And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.

Wisdom will empower you to solve difficult matters, 1Kings 10:1-3. It will also enhance the way you treat and relate with people, Prov.2:9. Wisdom will help you avoid the trap of associating with the wrong people (Prov.2:11-19); people who want to entice you and lure you away unto evil paths. It will cause you to walk in the path of integrity and it will prolong and preserve your life, Prov. 2:20-22.

PRAYER FOCUS:
Declare in faith that your growing in wisdom is enhancing your life and that you are having impact in the lives of others.
