Burden For the Nations	SATURDAY AUG. 13

Isaiah 56:7 (GNB) 
 "I will bring you to Zion, my sacred hill, give you joy in my house of prayer, and accept the sacrifices you offer on my altar. My Temple will be called a house of prayer for the people of all nations."

Although the word “nations” can refer to countries of the world, it can also refer to various classifications and organizations of people, i.e., various fields, sectors and spheres of society like business, education, politics, sports, entertainment, culture, etc. In our text above, God declared that His Temple would be a house of prayer for the people of all nations. You and I are God's Temple (1Cor.3:16) and praying for the nations is our responsibility. Terrible things are happening in various countries around the world and in various fields and spheres of
society. These atrocities, from natural disasters to insecurities, from immorality to corruption and from wars, to terrorism to economic hardships, are not God's will for these nations.

God does not want us to simply lament when we hear or witness these things. He wants us to arise and pray. He also wants us to arise and shine His light in the midst of the darkness. God is looking for men and women like you and me who will rise up in faith and compassion to stand in the gap and pray for the nations of the world, Ezek.22:30. There are great harvests that God
wants to bring into these nations and prayer is a powerful beginning point for activating God's intervention in these nations. God wants us to give thanks and pray for all men and for all leaders so that there will be peace. He also wants all men and leaders to be saved, 1Tim.2:1-4.

Our prayer will make much power available. As we pray, God will move in His glorious might and cause His power and glory to manifest. God will intervene. God will show Himself strong on our behalf. May God fill your heart today with the burden and desires that He has for the nations of the world.

PRAYER FOCUS: Pray for people and leaders of countries and spheres of society as the Spirit of God stirs the burden of God in your heart.
