The Faith Banquet - THE BELIEVER'S LIFE IN CHRIST (2)

Understanding our redemption in Christ is what reveals to us who we are and what we have in Christ, and what God is doing in us by His Word through the Holy Spirit. Colossians 1: 13-14; Ephesians 1: 7-10.

Galatians 2: 20. Christian life is lived from inside out. The life of the believer is the life of Christ. I live because Christ lives in me. I live in the consciousness that Christ lives in me. In Him I live and move and have my being. Acts 17: 28. The born again child of God lives by faith in the Son of God. The believer lives in the Spirit, not according to the flesh. Romans 8: 9, 12-13.

If Christ is living in me, what kind of life am I expected to live? If Christ is living in me it implies that whatever that cannot affect or have an effect on Christ cannot affect nor have effect on me. Sickness cannot have effect nor affect Christ, therefore I refuse sickness to have effect or affect me. Sin cannot have dominion over Christ, therefore sin cannot have dominion over me. Satan and all his demons cannot dominate Christ, therefore I refuse to let Satan and his demons have dominion over me.

The life of Jesus on this earth was such that He walked on the earth as the Son of man, and not as Son of God though He was and is Son of God. He walked as a man under the Abrahamic covenant; He partook of the nature of the flesh and blood in order for Him to defeat the devil and his death-dealing power. Jesus has to come in the likeness of man for Him to redeem man. That is reason God has to use a virgin called Mary. The Word of God became flesh and dwelt among us. The Word became flesh and blood. But the blood of Jesus has its source in the life of God and not man. He was born of the Word and the Spirit of God. Luke 1: 30-38.

So, Jesus walked on this earth as the Son of man. He was anointed by the Holy Spirit and He went about doing good and healing that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him. Why? Because He walked in the covenant. Acts 10: 38; Luke 2: 21.
So, He died as man and was buried. He went to hell and defeated and dethroned the devil and all the hosts of darkness and made a public show of them, triumphing over them in the cross. Colossians 2: 15. He did this as man. He got the victory over the Satan and the kingdom of darkness as man. It was the Man Jesus that redeemed and delivered the human race from the dominion of the devil. Hence, as many as believed in Him, will have credited to the account all that the Man Jesus ever did for the eternal redemption which He obtained by His precious blood. Hebrews 2: 14-15.
