1Samuel 17: 43-45 (NIV)
He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. "Come here," he said, "and I'll give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!" David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”

How would you carry yourself if the President of your nation sent you on assignment? Think about it. Similarly, once you realize the power and authority in the name of Jesus who has commissioned you into the world in His name, a new type of confidence and assurance should arise in your heart. Jesus is Lord everywhere, He is Lord over everything and He is Lord over everyone. All power in Heaven and on Earth has been given unto Him, Matt.28:18. Jesus died and was raised up to be Lord of both the living and the dead, Rom. 14:9. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the
world, and they that dwell therein, Psa.24:1.
Colossians 1:16 declares that all things were made by Christ and for Christ, while Colossians 2:10 reminds us that Christ is the head of all principality and power. The heart of kings are in His hand (Prov.21:1) and when your ways please Him, He will cause you to find favour even in the sight of those who dislike you, Prov.16:7
Proverbs 21:31 says, the horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD. Beloved, it is right to work hard and plan well, but place your trust in the Lord. God shows Himself strong in the lives of those who trust in Him, 2Chron.16:9. This mindset caused David to be victorious over Goliath and will similarly cause you to be victorious in all your endeavours and the assignment God has given you. Go forth in His name today.
PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for the authority in the name of Jesus. Declare in faith that you are victorious as you go forth in His Name.
