Seeking and Saving the Lost 2
Luke 19:5-6, Luke 15:20
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. *And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

In the same way that many miss out on various opportunities because they are not expecting them, so it is that many believers miss out on opportunities to reach and touch the lost with God's love and saving power because they are not expecting such opportunities to come their way each and every day. One major sign that you are really seeking something is how you respond when an opportunity for that thing comes your way.
The father of the prodigal son was so expectant of his son's return home that from afar he sighted him and recognized him. Out of his great love and compassion, he put aside his dignity and status and ran all the way to his son, embraced him and kissed him. He eagerly grabbed the opportunity to restore and save his son. That is how we are to both sense and grab every single opportunity that comes our way to restore and save the lost. It should show that it is something we have long been waiting for and that it is something that is of great priority to us.
Our joy for every soul that is saved should be as much as the joy in Heaven when a soul is saved, Luke 15:10. The salvation of a soul is not just one of those things that happens to an individual; it is one of the greatest things that can ever happen to a soul. We must never take it lightly at all. Despite the large crowds that were following Jesus, He stopped, looked up and beckoned for Zacchaeus to come down so He could go to his house. May God make you more sensitive and passionate about maximizing every opportunity to save a soul.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please make me more sensitive and passionate about maximizing opportunities to see souls saved.
