CGMG ABOVE ONLY - DO NOT BE BLIND

Do Not Be Blind

MONDAY
FEB. 20

 2Peter 1:8-10
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.

Author PhotoIn our text above, Apostle Peter admonishes us that the proof that we are not blind is the continual increase of certain character traits and qualities in our lives. He added that these things will cause us to remain continually fruitful in our knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. In 2Peter 1:5-7, Apostle Peter listed the character traits and qualities as: faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and charity. Are you passionately increasing in these character traits and qualities? According to Apostle Peter, if we are to make our calling and election sure, we must diligently do so. As long as we are alive and have not yet become all that God wants us to become and fulfilled all that God has called us to do, we must maintain a mindset of humility.

We must continually seek to grow and improve ourselves from the inside out. What motivates this passion to grow and improve ourselves is our vision of the great and precious promises that God has in store for us, 2Pet.1:4. There are innumerable great and precious things that God has in store for us. We need to see ourselves partaking of God's nature and escaping the lustful corruptions that are in the world. As God opens our eyes to the great purpose He has in store for us to fulfill, we will be motivated to forget all that is behind us and press forward toward the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, Phil.3:14. May God open your eyes today and may you be motivated to keep growing and improving yourself.

PRAYER FOCUS:
Receive grace to see the greater things God has ahead of you and to continually grow and develop yourself from the inside out.
