Trust and Pray for God's Rest |
|
Matthew 11:28-30, Zechariah 4:6Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. *Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, this is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
So many Christians struggle and are frustrated either because they lack the wisdom on what to do or they know what to do but lack the strength or means to accomplish it. You and I have no reason to struggle or grow weary in anything that God has called us to be and do because His abundant wisdom and grace are always available for us as we put our faith in Jesus and come boldly into God's presence. In Hebrews 4:16 the Bible says, let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Whenever we refuse to believe God and seek Him for His wisdom and grace in our time of need, we are simply choosing to struggle on our own and remain frustrated.
Imagine the struggle, confusion and frustration that the bridegroom of the wedding feast in John 2:1-10 would have faced if not for Jesus. Instead of frustration, they received joy, which was far better than what they had at the beginning.
Psalm 16:11 says, thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Today, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path, Prov.3:5-6. He will direct you and He will empower you to be victorious. Things that you may have felt were impossible will become possible as you put your faith in Jesus and call upon Him.
PRAYER FOCUS: Tell God you trust in Him and seek His abundant wisdom and strength for every area of need in your life right now.
