John 10:34-36 (NIV)
Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'? If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came — and the Scripture cannot be broken— what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'?

So many believers fail to understand what it means to be called 'sons of God.' It was because the Jews understood what it meant to be called the 'Son of God' that they were moved to stone Jesus when He referred to Himself as such, John 10:30- 36. Their claim of blasphemy was based on the fact that anyone who called themselves 'the Son of God' was equating himself with God. When Jesus boldly declared that “I and my Father are one,” He knew what He was talking about. As the Son of God, He was one with God. The same life that was in God was in Him.
Do you realize that you are one spirit with Christ (1Cor.6:17) and that as He is, so are you in this world (1John 4:17)? You are a son or daughter of God in the same way that Christ is. According to John 1:12, as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. When you refer to yourself as a son or daughter of God, you are referring to yourself as royalty, one who bears the image and likeness of Christ. As a son or daughter of God, the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is at work within you. No wonder in 1John 3:1 the Bible says, behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us that we should be called the sons of God. It is something worth marveling about. You are not ordinary. By virtue of your being a son or daughter of God and your continuous receiving of God's Word, the grace to live a supernatural life just like Christ is upon you.
PRAYER FOCUS: Praise God for making you His son or daughter and declare that as a child of God, you have the ability to live a supernatural life like Christ.
