Do Not Despise Preaching |

Romans 10:13-15
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Preaching the Word of God may appear powerless and foolish, but it is God's power and wisdom by which He saves, blesses, transforms and delivers men. In Acts 8:5-8, Philip went into Samaria and preached Christ unto them. After they received the Word, God accompanied the preaching of His Word with salvation, signs and wonders and there was great joy in that city.
The salvation and joy of many are tied to their listening to the preaching of the gospel of Christ. This is why Apostle Paul boldly declared that he was unashamed of the gospel of Christ because it is the power of God unto salvation, Rom.1:16. Even as a believer, never despise preaching the gospel yourself and also listening to the preaching of the gospel from others. When we pray for God to save and touch both us and others, one way He does so is by sending His Word to us and to them.
PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God to send His Word to you and also ask Him to send His Word through you to touch and save someone today.
