Be Relevant wherever you are

THURSDAY
SEPT. 22

 2 Timothy 4:11, Genesis 39:2-4 (GNB)
Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry. *The LORD was with Joseph and made him successful. He lived in the house of his Egyptian master, who saw that the LORD was with Joseph and had made him successful in everything he did. Potiphar was pleased with him and made him his personal servant; so he put him in charge of his house and everything he owned.

Author PhotoTo be relevant wherever you are is to be useful and impactful wherever you find yourself. Relevant people are humble and service oriented people. They love to serve others and they are good stewards in their service. They know how to take responsibility to ensure that things are done adequately. Relevant people are resourceful people. They know how to use their initiative to make the best out of everything that they have and everything they are engaged in.

The verse that follows our 2nd text above says, “from then on, because of Joseph the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian and everything that he had in his house and in his fields.” When you are relevant wherever you are, you become a channel for God's grace and blessings to occupy that space.

Be an asset, not a liability. There is absolutely no reason why you should be idle or unfaithful in what you are doing. Continually look for opportunities to serve and to be a blessing wherever you are. Look for opportunities to solve problems and add value. Keep developing yourself. Every time you develop yourself, you are increasing your capacity to be relevant. Relevance is the foundation for growing in impact and influence. It will open more doors for you. Being relevant will make you sought after. Your testimony will be like that of Mark in our 1st text above. People will refer to you as a profitable person.

PRAYER FOCUS:
Ask God to use you as a channel to serve, solve problems and bless lives today.
