Blessing Your Environment and Nation (2) |

Genesis 30:27-30 (NKJV)
And Laban said to him, "Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake." Then he said, "Name me your wages, and I will give it." So Jacob said to him, "You know how I have served you and how your livestock has been with me. For what you had before I came was little, and it has increased to a great amount; the Lord has blessed you since my coming….”

Another way that we release the blessings of God in us is via our works. God wants to bless the works of our hands and use the works of our hands to bless others. In our text above, Laban testified that God had blessed him because of Jacob. Genesis 39:3 shows us that Potiphar saw that God was with Joseph and made everything he did prosper. As you know, this was Joseph's testimony even in the prison and this also became Joseph's testimony when he worked directly with the king of Egypt. Wherever you find yourself, this will be your testimony also because of how blessed you are as a child of the Most High.
Referring to Christ, Isaiah 9:6 says that the government shall be upon His shoulders. Christ is the Head and we are His Body. We are His representatives on the earth right now. This means that leaders of our environment and nation should depend upon us to succeed. The word 'shoulder' also represents taking responsibility. If we are irresponsible and lack the maturity to get things done, there is no way that the leaders of our environment can depend on us. As believers, we are to be the most responsible and reliable people wherever we find ourselves. The Bible confirms that Gentiles will come to your light and kings will come to the brightness of your rising, Isa.60:3. Your works will so shine before men and will bring life and hope to hopeless lives and situations.
PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God for the grace to release blessings into your environment and nation with your works.
