Who is Winning in Your Life? (2) |

Job 1:9-11 (NIV)
"Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."

Your response to the situations you are faced with in life serves as an opportunity for either God or the enemy to advance their will in your life. As we saw yesterday, it is by yielding to either God’s will or the devil’s will in our thoughts, words and actions that we advance their respective agendas. Like Job, you may not know why you are going through that situation but if choose to continue to hold on to God, your situation will take a turn and God’s name will be glorified in your life. The Bible reminds us that many are the afflictions of ‘the righteous,’ but the Lord delivers him from
them all, Psa.34:19. Job’s circumstances did not result from anything he did wrong. On the contrary, his circumstances were simply an opportunity for God’s agenda to be advanced in his life.
Some of Job’s friends almost made it difficult for Job to continue to allow God to win in his life. It was evident that God was displeased with them, Job 42:7. I pray that God will grant you His grace and wisdom to allow only the right people to surround and influence you in both good and trying times. Just like Job, God believes in you and believes that you will allow Him to win in your life.
Beloved, do not give up. Count it all joy. In everything you may be going through, remember that you are more than a conqueror through Him that loves you, Rom.8:35-37. Allowing the Word of God to abide in you will cause you to become stronger and able to overcome the wicked one, 1John 2:14. Even Jesus was tempted severally, but by the Word of God He overcame, Luke 4:1-13. Jesus also overcame by prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt.26:36-44. You too will overcome.
PRAYER FOCUS: Pray and receive God’s Word and grace to continue to hold on to Him and to do His will.
