You Are Empowered

 Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8 
 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. *But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The promise of the Holy Spirit and power that Jesus gave His disciples in our texts above similarly applies to you and me because we are also His disciples. It is therefore our responsibility to receive this promise and to remain conscious of the fact that we have been endued with power from on high.

The word 'dunamis' means power and is referenced in our texts above. It is the same word from which the word dynamite is derived. Dynamite was actually invented for use in construction and mining; to remove obstructions that challenge our human capabilities so that precious stones and minerals can be mined and major construction can proceed for our development and progress.

In the same way, the power you have received from the Spirit of God is miraculous working power that can overcome hindrances and obstructions that expose the limitations of human power. It is this power that makes you unstoppable as you carry out the work that God has called you to. You are empowered to face and overcome every day obstacles and challenges simply because of the 'dumanis' power that you have been equipped with.

PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for the miraculous working power that He has endowed you with to go about doing what He has called and assigned you to do today. Receive grace to be conscious of this power and to make use of it effectively.
