2 Thessalonians 2:13-15
We must thank God at all times for you, friends, you whom the Lord loves. For God chose you as the first to be saved by the Spirit's power to make you his holy people and by your faith in the truth. God called you to this through the Good News we preached to you; he called you to possess your share of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, our friends, stand firm and hold on to those truths which we taught you, both in our preaching and in our letter.
--------------------------------------------------------------
1Peter 5:10 empowers us with the reminder that God has called us to His eternal glory. In 2Peter 1:3, we are further reminded that God has called us to a life of glory and virtue. By believing
the gospel, you have responded to these calls and more. Abraham believed what God had called him and as a result, he experienced the manifestation of that calling in his life. As you believe God, you too will have a glorious life because that is what He has ordained for you.
As a result of Adam's sin, we all fell short of God's glory (Rom.3:23) and that is why Christ (the Second Adam) came to raise us back into a life of glory, Heb.2:10. Christ in you is the hope of glory (Col.1:27); both in this life and in eternity. Because of your faith in Christ, your life is now destined to be just like Christ's. In our text above, Apostle Paul informed believers that God has called them to share in the glory of Christ. Your life will not be a shameful life. It will be a life full of the glory and virtue of Christ. As you believe God's Word today, His glory and virtue is filling your life.
In John 1:46, Nathaniel asked if anything good could come out of Nazareth. In response, Philip asked him to come and see. In the same way, people will be amazed at the great things that will emerge from your life. Christ eliminated any and every curse and limitation that had been associated with people from Nazareth. Because you are in Christ, you also will break every curse and limitation of your past and background. Your life will baffle the world. Continue to believe and hold on to God's Word. It will be made flesh in your life.
PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for calling you to a life of glory and virtue and declare in faith that the glory of Christ has filled your life.
