Luke 2:11 (GNB), Isaiah 9:6 (GNB), Matthew 1:22-23 (GNB)
This very day in David's town your Savior was born---Christ the Lord! *A child is born to us! A son is given to us! And he will be our ruler. He will be called, "Wonderful Counselor," "Mighty God," "Eternal Father," "Prince of Peace." *Now all this happened in order to make come true what the Lord had said through the prophet, "A virgin will become pregnant and have a son, and he will be called Immanuel" (which means, "God is with us").
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no way you can fully appreciate what today represents and not have cause to rejoice and celebrate! Today is a day worth rejoicing and celebrating because it is a day to celebrate God's extraordinary and unimaginable love for you and me. It is a day that guarantees the restoration of hope and celebration for the rest of our lives. Luke 2:13-14 says, and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Christmas represents the day our Saviour was born. It is the day our eternal hope was born; a day that so many prophets in the Old Testament prophesied and rejoiced about. In John 8:56 Jesus said, your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Abraham saw this day in the Spirit and rejoiced. You and I should be even more exceedingly glad because we not only see this day in the Spirit, we actually experience it in our lives. This very Christ that the whole world celebrates today is our Lord and Saviour and He lives in us by His Spirit.
We were separated from God and without hope, but through Jesus, we have been reconciled back to God. He sacrificed all of His glory in Heaven just to come and identify with us. He did it so that He could save us and exalt us again to God's level. Rejoice and celebrate today for this and all that Christ's birth means to you.
CELEBRATION GUIDE: Praise God and rejoice for the great and extraordinary love He showed you by sending Jesus as your Savior.
