Luke 2:27-31 (GNB)
Led by the Spirit, Simeon went into the Temple. When the parents brought the child Jesus into the Temple to do for him what the Law required, Simeon took the child in his arms and gave thanks to God: "Now, Lord, you have kept your promise, and you may let your servant go in peace. With my own eyes I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples.

Our text above refers to a man called Simeon who had been promised by God that he would not see death until he saw Jesus the Lord. By the Spirit of God, he was led into the temple the very day Joseph and Mary brought Jesus and was able to recognize Christ, even as a baby. The Bible records that he gave thanks to God for the privilege of seeing the salvation of God, Jesus the Christ. This is amazing because as Jesus grew, He manifested the works of God and confirmed that He was the Son of God. Many people still did not recognize or believe Him and as such, they missed out on all the blessings and grace they should have received from Him.
1Corinthians 12:3 confirms that no man can say Jesus is Lord except by the help of the Holy Spirit. It takes the Spirit of God opening your eyes to know and accept who Jesus really is. Today, I pray that the Spirit of God will open your eyes and continue to open your eyes to the great power and glory that is in you because Christ is in you. I also pray that you will continue to rejoice and celebrate the presence of Christ every single day of your life. Continually rejoice and thank God for the birth of Jesus and the fact that through you, He will be born in many others and the celebration will continue.
Child of God, you are most privileged to have Christ the Saviour of the world residing in you. By receiving Christ, you have received the ability to experience God's victory and power in every area of your life. You are no longer under the bondage of sin or the devil and you have a right to all the power, promises and blessings of God.
PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for the great privilege of having Christ dwell in you and for having access to all His power, promises and blessings.
