Make God Your Refuge this Season

Proverbs 18:10, Hebrews 4:16, Daniel 6:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. *Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time
of need. *Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

A refuge is a safe haven or a place where one can be assured of peace, protection and security. It is a place of safety and a sanctuary in times of danger. There is no place where you can be as assured of peace, protection and security like in the presence of God. As such, the proof that you have made God your refuge is your willingness to trust in Him and to run to Him in times of danger.

God is a very present help in time of need. His presence is available to you 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. When you have such total and complete access to God, there should be absolutely no reason why you should be living beneath your privileges. Daniel was a man who knew how to access God's presence for His peace, protection and security. As we see in our third text above, based on a terrible conspiracy against him, a very hostile decree had just been signed by the king. It was a decree that could jeopardize his life.

Instead of complaining, worrying and wondering why his colleagues hated him so much, the Bible tells us that Daniel immediately sought God in prayer, giving thanks to God as he had previously done.

Instead of allowing what was occurring in the natural to disrupt his fellowship with God, His fellowship with God provided him the strength to triumph over what was occurring in the natural. In
Daniel chapter 1, when the lives of all the wise men in Babylon were at stake as a result of the king's dream, Daniel also went boldly to God and he was safe. He remembered His source of strength.God's abundant grace will grant you peace and safety as you continue to call on Him.

PRAYER FOCUS: Tell God that He is your refuge and strong tower. Receive His grace right now for every need in your heart.
