Judges 7:1 (NIV), Psalm 63:1, Proverbs 8:17
Early in the morning, Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) and all his men camped at the spring of Harod. The camp of Midian was north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh. *O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. *I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gideon and his men rose up early in the morning in order to position and prepare themselves for the great exploits that God would do through them. There are certain things you must do to prepare and position yourself for the great things that God has in store for your life this year. Proverbs 21:31 says, the horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD. The assurance of God's safety or His grace is no reason to fail to prepare.
Your preparation and positioning must start with your spiritual life and then branch out into every other area of your life. Position yourself rightly in Christ every day. Always maintain your proper stand and your upright posture based on the new creature that you are in Christ. You are Christ's Ambassador and representative. You have Christ's anointing and authority because He has sent you in His name and in His power.
Be prayerful and fill yourself with the Word of God. Jesus Himself usually rose up early to prepare and position Himself spiritually before He began His day, Mark 1:35. Pray always and in the Spirit, Eph.6:18. Edify yourself and build up your faith continually. A primary effect of God's Word is that it properly equips you for good works, 2Tim.3:16- 17. As you deliberately and strategically charge your spirit every day, you will be refreshed and equipped for exploits.
PRAYER FOCUS: Receive grace right now to properly prepare and position yourself spiritually each and every day.
