Judges 7:1 (GNB), Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV), Hab. 2:2 (NKJV)
Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. *A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. *Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”

God wants you to intentionally focus in order to map out great plans for the amazing things you want to achieve this year, Luke 14:28. Remember that faith without works is dead. It is not enough to only believe, pray and prophesy great things for yourself this year. You also need to deliberately make good plans, commit those plans unto God and deliberately begin to carry out those plans early enough. God is ready to breathe upon your plans, direct and strengthen you to carry them out successfully.
Planning will cause your prayers to be more specific and render your actions more focused and organized. Not having good plans is one reason why many people struggle and are frustrated. Some others have good plans but delay, procrastinate and do not commit themselves to follow through with their plans. Do you know that it was immediately after Joseph was made the Prime Minister of Egypt that he began to store up grains for the time of famine, Gen.41:46-49? He did not waste any time. He got to work immediately on his great plans.
The way God Himself systematically executed His plans for creation in the beginning is a prime example of a great plan which should guide the manner in which you carry out your plans. Adequately plan and break down your plan into different phases. Maintain priorities and remain committed to them. God is not against your planning. What God is against is a worried and anxious mind which is focused on your needs. God also does not want you to place your faith in your plans and efforts. Even with incredible plans, He still wants you to put your faith and trust in Him.
PRAYER Focus: Receive God's grace and wisdom right now to make good plans and to always take early action on those plans.
