- Love of God in our Hearts. Romans 5 Vs.5, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us:
Having been at peace with God and with unlimited and unrestraint access into His throne of grace, His love is now poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us, so that we can conform to His image in love.
Colossians 3:12-14, “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”
Because God has so loved us, He taught us to love one another. For he that comes into God’s presence must love Him and His children.
It is the love of God that brought us divine forgiveness, hence in the Scripture; we are instructed to forgive one another because love forgives. The evidence that we have passed from death to life is when we love the brethren. To live outside of love is to abide in death. For God is love. This love is the God-kind of love – agape love. It is the unconditional and unselfish love that produces life.
1 John 4:7-10, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
The Word teaches us to love God because He first loved us. God loved us and He gave us His Begotten Son, and when we believe in Him, we have eternal life. Now, with the eternal life is the ability to love because the love of God was poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Since we are of God, now abiding in His holy presence, we ought to love one another. We know we abide in God when His love has been perfected in us, if we love the brethren.
The love of God in us gives us the boldness in the Day of Judgment, because the love of God in us made us to be in this world as He is. When we abide in love, fear has no place in us. For perfect love cast out fear. To be fearful is to be without love. The Word says we have not been given the spirit of fear, but of love, of power and of sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7.
Justification by faith enables us to love God and His children, so that we can be bold in His presence. Matthew 22:37-40.
