The Results of our Justification in Christ. Romans 5
- Peace With God: vs.1, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
This peace refers to the fact that there was a war between man and God. It was a holy war. Why? Because for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This implies we were at war with God, we were His enemies, we were aliens / strangers to His kingdom. There is a conflict between God’s righteousness and our unrighteousness. He is just and we were unjust. Until we are justified, we were at war with Him because only the justified person can be comfortable in the presence of holy God.
Ephesians 2:13-14, “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;”
At the shedding of the blood of Christ and His resurrection, Jesus became our peace, and His blood brought us near to God, making us the children of God, because we are now peacemakers. Matthew 5:9.
The justification by faith put an end to the war forever. Philippians 4:7, says it is peace that surpasses all understanding. It is a holy peace. It is the kind if peace that only Christ can bestow. It is the kind of peace that Christ Himself possessed.
