Step out in Faith and Obedience |

Judges 6:27, James 2:17 (GNB)
Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night. *So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead.

Faith comes by hearing God's Word but faith grows by acting on God's Word. You give life to your faith by taking active steps in line with your faith and walking in obedience to God's Word and leading. In the Living Bible, our second text above says, so you see, it isn't enough just to have faith. You must also do good to prove that you have it. Faith that doesn't show itself by good works is no faith at all-it is dead and useless.
You may not exercise it perfectly at first, but if you start to do what God has said you should do, He will release more of His grace unto you, strengthen and perfect you in what He has purposed for you to do. Although Gideon was still fearful, he stepped out and did what God had instructed him to do and God backed him up. As you decide today that you will consistently take those little steps of faith, God will back you up. Your little steps of faith will lead to great steps of faith. Though your beginning may be small, your latter end shall increase, Job 8:7. As you remain faithful with your little faith, God will give you more.
Jesus declared that signs and wonders will follow those that believe, Mark 16:17. If you refuse to step out in faith, signs and wonders cannot follow you. You have to be moving in faith for them to follow you. Another thing that will sustain your faith and exploits this year is your willingness to work together with others. Gideon decided that he would not do what God was asking him to do alone. There is power in synergy. Iron sharpens iron, Prov.27:17.

FAITH DECLARATION: Signs and wonders are following me as I step out in faith and obedience to God today. God's grace is backing me up. My little steps of faith will result in transformational results!
