Empowered to Penetrate the System
Matthew 5:13, Colossians 4:5-6 (GNB)
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. *Be wise in the way you act toward those who are not believers, making good use of every opportunity you have. Your speech should always be pleasant and interesting, and you should know how to give the right answer to everyone.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Salt is no good if it remains in its packet or container. It has to be poured out and blended into other substances for it to effect and preserve them. We are the salt of the earth, not of the church. Our saltiness is enhanced in God's presence but it is utilized in the world as we penetrate into the world system and positively impact and influence those systems with the life and power of God that is in us.
In Matthew 10:16, Jesus said, “behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” Jesus is unafraid of us going into the midst of wolves because He has empowered us to not only remain immune from their negative influence but to influence them with His life and nature that resides in us. People like Joseph, Daniel and Esther were able to penetrate secular systems and instead of those systems negatively influencing negatively, they positively influenced those systems positively. You can do the same and even more. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
Like salt, you are not out there to attract attention to yourself but to make your impact felt. God has poured you out into various fields and spheres of influence so that you can exert His influence there. As salt sweetens and preserves, you have to be a blessing and a solution provider. That is how Joseph penetrated Potiphar's house and the Egyptian government. Show love, heal others, solve problems and make impact in an uncommon way and God's name will be glorified.
FAITH DECLARATION: I am empowered to penetrate the systems of this world, to make impact and to have positive influence for God.
