| Valuing and Understanding Times and Seasons |

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: *I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. *Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days. Don't be fools, then, but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.

Doing the right thing is not enough. We must also understand the time and seasons. It is when we make timely decisions in the right seasons that we accomplish exploits. In 1Chronicles 12:32, the Bible described the sons of Issachar as men with knowledge who understood the times and seasons and knew what Israel was supposed to do. Can you and I be described this way today?In Genesis 8:22, God told Noah that seedtime, harvest, cold, heat, summer, winter, day and night would not cease from the earth. All these different times and seasons have different requirements and rules for thriving, prevailing and making impact. Different times and seasons demand different attitudes, dressing, feeding, ventilation and activities. A major key to avoid struggling, being stranded and being frustrated is understanding times and seasons and doing what is required at the right time.
Understand your seasons of testing, training, preparation, advancing and launching forth. In the wilderness, Israel knew when to move and when to stop by the movement of the cloud of God's glory that resided with them, Exo.40:36-37. Discern when to talk and when to be quiet. Discern when to pray and when to act. By the Spirit of God, you can discern the mind of God (1Cor.2:11-12.) Today, the Spirit of God will help you understand your current time and season in order to maximize your time.
PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God to help you by His Spirit to value, understand and maximize the times and seasons of your life.
