THE SUCCESS RECIPE
Engraved in my memory is the picture of a short heavily bearded Jew, dressed in a black suit, white shirt and a long cap to match, pacing back and forth the aisle of an Ethiopian Airline, flying between Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and Lagos (Nigeria) in April 1994. As he paced back and forth, he was mumbling the Torah (the law of Moses) to himself. This ancient Jewish practice passed down the generations to this present day is known as meditation.
Meditation means to ponder, to be bent over in thought, to practice, imagine and also to mutter or speak to oneself. As Joshua tried to adjust to the challenge of leading a difficult nation like Israel, who provoked his mentor (Moses) to so much anger that he forfeited the Promised Land. God allayed his fears by giving him a simple recipe for success.
If he will keep the Word of God on his lips continually, he will succeed at the end. There is no better way to meditate than to do so through a recitation of God's Word. It activates divine inspiration, causing revelation to shine on the human heart. A sense of the reality of God's Word possesses the heart creating a new vision of one's self acting on the Word. It is described as observation. What you observe and visualize yourself doing, you will eventually do.
TWO TYPES OF FAITH CONFESSIONS
1- CONFESSION TO BELIEVE
Faith comes by hearing the Word (Romans 10:17) Doubt and unbelief give way to faith when the Word of God is spoken to the hearing of the man, over and over again.
2- CONFESSION BECAUSE I BELIEVE
The spirit of faith speaks (2Corinthians 4:13) When words of faith are spoken, the creative power of our faiths released through words' bringing the invisible into visibility and the unseen into sight. This type of confession also leads to acting on God's Word, making our way prosperous and having good success. Success in every area of life is a product of acting on God's Word. Confession to and because we believe it, is the key to the Word, molding us and transforming our situations and circumstances. Follow the Jewish man's daily practice of meditating in God's Word by speaking it aloud to yourself and it will take you places beyond your imagination.
The Word works!
