ABOVE ONLY DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Empowered to Occupy Till He Comes...

Dearly Beloved ,

As I welcome you to the New Year, which promises to be a fruitful year for you, I want you to know that, God has great plans for your life and He has empowered you to occupy till He comes.

To occupy is to remain busy with what God has entrusted to you, which includes your talents, business, family and your work in God's vineyard (winning souls for the kingdom). Are you occupying what God has placed in your hands and blessed you with? Does your life reflect Christ and are you raising your children in the fear of God?

In the parable of the Talents, Jesus made it clear that if we make good use of the gifts He has given us, we will be entrusted with more, (Luke.19:24). Do not expect God to grant you more gifts when you have not utilized that which has been given to you and placed in your hands. Determine not to be like the wicked servant who buried his talent while others made good use of theirs, (Luke.19:20).

Remember that, if you have been entrusted with the gift, you have been empowered to utilize it to its maximum capacity.

Beloved, God has given each of us an invaluable gift which stands in alignment with our individual calling and is to be utilized for the expansion of His kingdom and the manifestation of His glory. When God gives you power, He expects results from you. Occupy till He comes.

Happy New Year!

Most Rev. M.E. Benson-Idahosa,
Archbishop, CGMI
