Genesis 26:18, Galatians 6:9, Proverbs 23:18
And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. *And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. *For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
Perseverance is a vital character virtue that you and I must consistently cultivate in our lives. Perseverance is reflected in persistence and focus in the face of any discouragement and frustration that you may be facing. Remain assured, in spite of the discouragement, that there is always divine strength from the Spirit of God in you to persevere in every situation you find yourself, Gal.5:22-23.
Isaac kept digging and digging until those who consistently covered up his wells grew weary and finally left him alone, Gen.26:21-22. During His time of temptation, Jesus also consistently declared the Word until the devil grew tired and left him alone, Luke 4:1-13. Surely there is an end! That discouragement and situation will not be the source of your end. Instead, you will see the end of that discouragement and situation. Do not stagger at the promises of God or be thrown off balance. Instead, let your faith arise and grow stronger, Rom.4:20. Do not grow weary and do not faint. Resist the urge to be easily offended. Keep doing the right thing and be tenacious in your actions. Do not let go. In the kingdom of God, we do not place our hands on the plough and look back, Luke 9:62. The persistence of the woman in Luke 18:1-8 caused an unjust judge to attend to her case. Keep showing love, keep praying for others and keep preaching the gospel. Consistently develop yourself and remain diligent and excellent in the things your hands are engaged in. God will show Himself strong in your life. PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for the ability He has given you by His Spirit to continue to persevere. | ||||||||
