Your Reasonable Service

       OCT. 26

Romans 12:1, Colossians 3:17
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. *And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Child of God, what do you believe is a reasonable way to respond to the great and unimaginable love and mercy that God has shown you in Christ? Your deep appreciation for God's love and mercy should serve as strong motivation for you to live your life in a way that honours and pleases God. Ephesians 5:3 and 4 say that a child of God should give thanks unto God and flee fornication, uncleanness, covetousness, filthiness, or inconvenient jesting. This means that our appreciation of and gratitude towards God's love should motivate us not to partake in immorality In 2Cor.5:14, Apostle Paul notes that it is the love of Christ that constrains us. To be constrained is to be restrained; to be obliged and to be compelled to do something. In the Good News Bible, this verse says that we are ruled by the love of Christ. I pray that the revelation of God's love for you in Christ will constrain you to live your life in a manner that honours and pleases God today.

In Malachi 1:6-8, God was expressed his displeasure concerning the manner in which the priests dishonored Him by offering unto Him sick and weak animals that they could not even offer to their governors. God said, “If I am your father, where is my honour?” We are greatly privileged to have God as our loving Heavenly Father. Let us, as such, honour Him by living our lives to
please Him and living as His children indeed. Present everything you do as a sacrifice unto God. Do everything you do in a manner that will honour God and in a way that will be acceptable unto Him.

PRAYER FOCUS: Heavenly Father, I appreciate the great love and mercies you have shown me in Christ. As such, I dedicate everything I do as a sacrifice unto you.
